Staining

Amazing Wooden Floor Staining & Colouring Services

Stains alter the colour of wood (eg: darkening a pine floor) and enhance the wood grain. They are applied by hand or roller and take at least eight hours to dry.
You can use coloured varnishes, but the floor becomes patchy and discolored as they wear. It is far better to stain and varnish in two distinct stages. Colour control is maintained and the durability of the sealant will be enhanced. As the varnish or sealant wears away, it will not affect the underlying coloured stain – and can easily be topped up.

You may also paint your floor or use a coloured wax (such as lime wax) for a soft tinting effect on the visible wood grain.

Coloured wax can match your home interior: it quickly lends colour to your room and is a good choice for floors with dull, washed colours. You get an affordable new floor that looks completely different.

Traditional wood stains are solvent and oil-based, but a good range of modern water-based stains is now available. These are odour-free with colours ranging from traditional wood colours to contemporary pigmenting: eg white, red, blue or even pink!
